Use QIT when

  • Problem is repetitive
    • Causes dissatisfaction with internal/external customers
    • Can pay off investment in time and energy
    • Are solvable by designated team
    • Are supported by management
  • Solution requires inputs from multiple sources
  • Issue is complicated and you do not have the answer
  • You need broad-based acceptance of a necessary change

Do not use QIT when

    • The problem is isolated
    • You need an immediate decision
    • You have all the necessary information to make a decision
    • You have the answer and do not need “buy in”
  • The solution would not justify the investment of the team’s time
